Porsche Introduces New Cayenne S Diesel

A diesel SUV, which can do 0-60 miles per hour in unbelievable 5.7 seconds.

After the diesel-powered version of the Porsche Cayenne with the six-cylinder engine came to the United States market, Porsche has revealed much more powerful diesel model, the new Cayenne S. This luxury SUV is equipped with a V8 4.2 liter turbodiesel engine that has great 382 hp and a terrific 626 pound-feet of the peak torque. It is very impressive difference between the current Cayenne with diesel V6 numbers: 142 horsepower and 220 pound-feet of torque.

It’s not bad for a diesel SUV. It is also equipped with a start/stop system and it can go 28 miles per one gallon of fuel (combined cycle) and CO2 emitting is only 218 grams per one km. The new Cayenne S can tow 3,500 kilograms and it can go about 750 miles on one tank of fuel. German carmaker claims that the new V8 turbodiesel engine in 2013 will be added to the Porsche Panamera lineup. But we always expect something more of the “S” Porsche version, so the new diesel Cayenne S has a lot of nice performance improvements.

There are larger brakes with the new silver brake calipers, new front intakes and a new all wheel drive system that has a torque vectoring option. After its debut in this month at Paris Motor Show, the Porsche Cayenne S Diesel will be available in January 2013 in Europe and the pricing will start at €77,684.
