Jeep Unveils New Grand Cherokee in Detroit

Chrysler gives its flagship SUV of iconic 4×4 division some nice updates, and, by the way, it is the first diesel that is available in United States.

Chrysler’s Jeep division has recently revealed a 2014 Grand Cherokee. The new model was shown public at the Detroit Auto Show and it is very similar to the existing Grand Cherokee, but a new model has a lot of upgrades that should help to keep it fresh on the market.

The most noticeable change might be the new face of 2014 Grand Cherokee. There are new headlamps and seven-slot grille. New front bumper looks little higher, and also the rear end of the SUV has larger tail lights, a new liftgate and bigger exhaust tips. Interior is almost the same, but there is new dashboard that can accommodate larger touchscreens, new instrument cluster and a new steering wheel.

Customers can still choose from 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar with 290hp and 260 pound-feet of torque, 5.7-liter V8 Hemi with 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet, but also there is a new diesel available – the 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel with 240 hp and 420 pound-feet of torque. There will be also a new SRT8 version, but there are no details about it yet. All these engines will work with new 8-speed automatic transmission.
